Ashlyn Arbini

Ashlyn Arbini

Ashlyn is a student at Eastern Washington University. Growing up in Spokane, Ashlyn joined our team this year after spending a year as an intern. Ashlyn brings a bright smile to work each day and her many talents and skills make her a great addition to our program team.

Fun Fact: Ashlyn is the niece of our CEO Marty Gonzales.

Artavia Berry

Executive Director - SF Bay Area

Artavia Berry

Artavia has worked extensively over the past 20 years, in a variety of executive leadership roles, to help provide academic and economic support to young people in under-resourced communities in the U.S. and developing countries. She is an ordained minister, holding a B.A. in Theology and a Masters of Divinity from Grace Christian Seminary, and believes that faith-centered social change can prove especially valuable in youth empowerment. She is co-founder of Pocketrev, a spiritual social sharing app, and serves as Regional Executive Director for Multiplying Good. She worked under Michelle Obama in community development and non-profit management at Public Allies Chicago and is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago.

Chance Curry

Chance Curry

Chance is a student at Whitworth University. He is an energetic young man who would like to open his own Dutch Bros. franchise.

Fun Fact: Chance grew up in Spokane and carries within him enough energy to power the country's power grid for at least two hours.

Darrin Duty

Program Director - Spokane Headquarters

Darrin Duty

Darrin is the Program Director, and has been the creative brain behind GA’s youth programs since 2011; devising program strategy and measuring effectiveness, working with and speaking to youth, and directing his team of staff, interns and volunteers.

Darrin has 25 years of experience working with youth as the Director of Spokane Youth for Christ Campus Life, as a Youth Pastor, and now with GA. He took a four-year hiatus from youth work (as a Regional Sales Manager representing Comcast and Time Warner for American Marketing and Cable Services) before returning to his true calling at Generation Alive. A graduate of Whitworth University, Darrin is a proud Spokanite and father of three sons.

Fun Fact: Darrin is a professional photographer and hot sauce enthusiast, once eating a pepper so hot that his eyes literally swelled shut.

Marty Gonzales

Chief Executive Officer - Spokane Headquarters

Marty Gonzales

Marty is the “bus driver” of the organization, as he likes to call it. He sets the vision for the organization and makes sure the right people are on the bus to get there. He enjoys every aspect of his role, whether it be strategizing, fundraising, working alongside the Board, public speaking or building a collaborative culture for success…no two days are the same!

Originally from the land of inmates, onions and wine (otherwise known as Walla Walla, Washington), he graduated from Eastern Washington University with degrees in Communication and Business Administration. Prior to joining GA, he served as Executive Director of Mobius Spokane. Marty has been recognized as a Top "20 Under 40" Business Leader by Inland Business Catalyst Magazine and as a Top "20 Under 40" Alumni by Eastern Washington University. He and his bride, Jennifer, are proud parents of two daughters.

Fun Fact: Marty is a die-hard Boyz II Men fan and occasionally enjoys devouring a bowl of peanut butter with maple syrup.

Rob Jackson

Rob Jackson

Rob is the founder and Executive Director of Beats Rhymes and Life (BRL), a community organization that provides culturally responsive therapeutic services for youth and BYMOC who are not receptive to traditional therapy. BRL’s programs provide culturally-congruent, strength-based, youth-centered approaches to healing, reducing the stigma around seeking therapeutic services in the communities we serve. Rob is a passionate community leader, educator, and multi-faceted artist who is intent on creating a community-based organization that identifies strategies to address socioeconomic injustices and mental health disparities. As a talented hip-hop artist, he brings a unique perspective in integrating the worlds of mental health and urban culture to effectively serve marginalized youth throughout the Bay Area.

Kelly Warren

Business and Events Manager - Spokane Headquarters

Kelly Warren

Kelly keeps a mindful eye on the budget, makes sure everyone gets paid, and manages the many details it takes to run a successful organization. Don’t be fooled by the “Finance” title; her responsibilities extend far beyond that and include a number of HR related items, as well as support of all things fundraising.

Prior to joining GA in 2012, Kelly worked as a provider contractor and agent in the insurance industry, and as a dental office manager. Having two teens herself, she knows firsthand how important an organization like GA is in positively influencing young people to be difference makers. Kelly and her husband, Steve, are proud parents of three children.

Fun Fact: Kelly’s guilty pleasures include popcorn on a rainy day and Hot Tamales candy…not to mention spending time with her 27 nieces and nephews!

Jonah Wilkinson

Jonah Wilkinson

Jonah is a student at Eastern Washington University. He is a theatre major and can sing by heart, any show tune ever written. Jonah grew up in the Spokane area and had a dream of pursuing a career on Broadway. Recently Jonah has focused his ambitions on the non-profit world.

Fun Fact: Jonah is a syrup snob. He chooses ONLY real maple syrup for his pancakes!

Cassandra Williams

Program Coordinator - Spokane Headquarters

Cassandra Williams

Cassandra started her first year at GA in 2017 as an intern. Now, as Program Coordinator she works to creatively manage GA’s social media, head the Defend Free Program, lead the intern program and work with youth. She loves all the different aspects of her role; every day is a different adventure!

Cassandra graduated from Whitworth University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Before GA, she worked at Dutch Bros for almost three years to serve the community coffee and kindness. She was born and raised in Spokane, understanding the importance of empowering youth in our community. Her and her fiance, Drew, are also the proud parents to a sweet puppy, Paisley.

Fun Fact: Cassandra is an avid baker, a coffee connoisseur and got engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris!
