Marty Gonzales

Chief Executive Officer

Marty Gonzales

Marty is the “bus driver” of the organization, as he likes to call it. He sets the vision for the organization and makes sure the right people are on the bus to get there. He enjoys every aspect of his role, whether it be strategizing, fundraising, working alongside the Board, public speaking or building a collaborative culture for success…no two days are the same!

Originally from the land of inmates, onions and wine (otherwise known as Walla Walla, Washington), he graduated from Eastern Washington University with degrees in Communication and Business Administration. Prior to joining GA, he served as Executive Director of Mobius Spokane. Marty has been recognized as a Top "20 Under 40" Business Leader by Inland Business Catalyst Magazine and as a Top "20 Under 40" Alumni by Eastern Washington University. He and his bride, Jennifer, are proud parents of two daughters.

Fun Fact: Marty is a die-hard Boyz II Men fan and occasionally enjoys devouring a bowl of peanut butter with maple syrup.

Darrin Duty

Program Director

Darrin Duty

Darrin is the Program Director, and has been the creative brain behind GA’s youth programs since 2011; devising program strategy and measuring effectiveness, working with and speaking to youth, and directing his team of staff, interns and volunteers.

Darrin has 25 years of experience working with youth as the Director of Spokane Youth for Christ Campus Life, as a Youth Pastor, and now with GA. He took a four-year hiatus from youth work (as a Regional Sales Manager representing Comcast and Time Warner for American Marketing and Cable Services) before returning to his true calling at Generation Alive. A graduate of Whitworth University, Darrin is a proud Spokanite and father of three sons.

Fun Fact: Darrin is a professional photographer and hot sauce enthusiast, once eating a pepper so hot that his eyes literally swelled shut.

Emily Larsen

Program Coordinator

Emily Larsen

Emily is on the frontlines of our mission as the Program Coordinator. She spends lots of time hanging out with the awesome intern squad, visiting schools and presenting in classrooms, running events and hiding behind GA’s social media profiles.

Born in Spokane and raised in Richland, Emily is a proud Whitworth University graduate with a degree in theology. She loves kids and spent many years working at Camp Ghormley in Naches, Wa. Whether it be in her work or personal life, Emily is fueled by a steady coffee drip and a love for youth!

Fun fact: When Emily isn't reading a book on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, she is polishing her typewriters.  She has collected 15 typewriters from all over the world.

Kelly Warren

Finance Manager

Kelly Warren

Kelly keeps a mindful eye on the budget, makes sure everyone gets paid, and manages the many details it takes to run a successful organization. Don’t be fooled by the “Finance” title; her responsibilities extend far beyond that and include a number of HR related items, as well as support of all things fundraising.

Prior to joining GA in 2012, Kelly worked as a provider contractor and agent in the insurance industry, and as a dental office manager.  Having two teens herself, she knows firsthand how important an organization like GA is in positively influencing young people to be difference makers. Kelly and her husband, Steve, are proud parents of three children.

Fun Fact: Kelly’s guilty pleasures include popcorn on a rainy day and Hot Tamales candy…not to mention spending time with her 27 nieces and nephews!
